Safety
Sensible Use Beats Enthusiastic Use.
Most problems with recovery products come from doing too much too soon, not from the product itself.
This is general guidance for the kinds of products we sell. It is not advice about you, and it does not replace a qualified professional.
When to stop and ask someone
Speak to a qualified professional before using any product here if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted device, have circulation problems or diabetes, have broken or infected skin where the product would go, or are recovering from surgery.
Stop using a product and seek advice if it causes pain, numbness, tingling, skin colour changes or swelling that does not settle.
General guidance
- Read the manufacturer's instructions before first use. They override anything general we say here.
- Start with the shortest time and lowest setting the instructions allow, and build up slowly.
- A support or brace should feel snug, never tight enough to alter sensation or colour.
- Do not apply heat or cold directly to skin, and do not sleep with a heat product in use.
- Keep electrical devices away from water and check cables before each use.
- Do not use a product for a purpose it was not designed for.
What this page is not
HW Sense does not diagnose or treat. Nothing here tells you what is wrong, what will help, or how long recovery should take. If you want an answer specific to you, that conversation belongs with a clinician.
